Before setting up his own practice, Rick Clements gained a broad range of corporate communication and public relations experience during his 13 years as head of Singapore Airlines' (SIA) public affairs department.  His area of responsibility covered media relations, corporate reputation management, product communication, issue management and crisis communication.

He was SIA's chief spokesman following two major airline accidents, the first in December 1997 when a B737-300 operated by SilkAir, SIA's regional subsidiary, went down in a river near Palembang, Indonesian and the second in October 2000, when an SIA B747-400 crashed on take-off in Taipei. He also spearheaded the Airline's public relations campaigns to restore public confidence in air travel following a huge fall in demand after 9-11 and during the SARS crisis.

Since setting up RCA, he has audited, revised and developed crisis communication plans for clients in several industries, designed and directed bespoke crisis simulation exercises to test crisis response plans, assisted clients in managing reputation-threatening issues and conducted courses in crisis communication and spokesperson training.

Rick's associates offer complimentary skills and experience in areas ranging from risk, crisis and business continuity management to one-to-one media coaching for top management.
